Fr.Jose Anchupankil, the Delegate Superior of the North East Claretians, was also accorded a traditional welcome with the archbishop before the blessing cermony. He has helped the mission to find help for the construction of the church.

On the church blessing day Holy Mass 135 children of the parish received the first communion from the Most Rev.Domnic jala, the Archbishop of Shillong.

The khasi traditional dancers in traditional costumes lead the guests to the church before the blessing of the church. khasi tribe is one among the two major tribes in the state of Meghalaya in North East India. Shillong is the capital city of the Khasis.

On the day of the church blessing the Archbishop, priests, nuns and other guests were led to the church main entrance with the Garo traditional Wangala dance. The garo Wangala dance is performed by more than 18 male and female dancers with 10 Garo traditional long drums and flutes.
